snOWWOol – Swedish wool residuals saves snow and glaciers

The project focuses on the urgent need to replace fossil materials with bio-based ones and to reduce the amount of waste that goes to incineration. Two challenge areas are addressed namely the fact that a) the winter season at our winter sports resorts is getting shorter, and b) large amounts of wool from sheep farming and the textile industry are incinerated. The project’s objective is to develop a bio-based snow storage cloth with optimized functions from waste wool from sheep farming and the textile industry. The aim is to take large leaps in MRL, market readiness level.
