The role of the bioeconomy in achieving the global sustainability goals

The Global Sustainable Development Goals, Agenda 2030, is the most ambitious sustainable development agenda the countries of the world have ever adopted. In principle, bioeconomy relates to all of the 17 sustainability goals, but eight of them are considered to affect the bioeconomy to a particularly high degree. In particular goal 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15.

 

 

However, neither bio-based nor circular systems are automatically sustainable. Therefore, to ensure sustainable development in the creation of new bio-based solutions as well as circular systems, we must focus on weighing environmental, social and economic factors together.
