The project ran between April and October 2020.
The project aimed to evaluate sustainable materials for ski helmets giving the possibility to replace fossile-based materials with bio-based. There are examples of sustainable helmets on the market, but the vision was to offer sustainable helmets for a wider group of customers. The project evaluated different material solutions for both skin and core before making prototype helmets based. The prototypes were tested according to helmet standards. Sustainability analysis were a central part of the project.
