The project aims to enhance the biobased economy by overcoming obstacles in substituting fossil coal and coke with sustainable alternatives like biocarbon in the metallurgical processes. Despite successful biocarbon trials, its widespread adoption remains limited. Large bioresources required for biocarbon production risks biomass shortages if the production is inefficient. This project proposes an innovative 2StagePyro process to optimize bioresource utilization, potentially revolutionizing the bioresource supply chain for biocarbon, bio-oil, and syngas production.
