Foundation made of wood – step 1

Category: Hypothesis testing projects

The project ran between November 2018 and September 2019.

The overall purpose of the project is to reduce the environmental impact of concrete foundations. The main purpose of the project was to create the basis for the product to be confirmed or dismissed as a competitive product on the market.

Work has shown that it is quite possible to compete with traditional foundational methods under certain conditions. The manufacturing method of wood slabs that should be used regarding environmental impact has little significance in relation to the change the foundation from concrete to wood regarding environmental impact.

The result of the work has shown that it is possible to compete with traditional methods under certain conditions. Which method of manufacture of wood slabs that should be used with regard to environmental impact has less significance in relation to the change of environmental impact it entails to switch from concrete to wood. Today, there are a 3-4 manufacturing methods and the choice of method depends on assessed market potential, investments and risk management. Technically, the project carried out measurements of moisture in the plate with good results.
