The project ran between October 2024 and June 2025
In this project, Alder Olmai and MOUNID’s bio-based textile dyes were investigated and validated for wool, polyester and cellulose with stakeholders Ludvig Svensson, Klippan Yllefabrik and Yangi’s materials, and technically being analyzed based on the project’s hypothesis that bio-dyes can be developed to meet large scale industrial requirements.
The project’s hypothesis has been validated through close collaboration with the industry companies; in-depth interviews where the companies requirements were mapped, and initial dye tests in industrial facilities resulted in crucial factors for the continued development of bio-dyes defining next steps for their industrial success.
The project followed its plan, exceeded the expected goals, and reached TRL and MRL level 5.
In the exchange of deep expertise and knowledge, the project also highlighted the need for merging of new material fibers and dyes to create circular textiles where our bio-dyes can serve clean, non-toxic material flows and support UN SDGs 3, 9 and 12. A promising foundation for the emerging need for bio-based local dyes at scale in the coming bioeconomy.
Alder Olmai and MOUNID’s bio-dyes are scalable solutions.
