The project ran between November 2021 and May 2022.
The ABC-Laminates project aimed to challenge a typical Fiber Metal Laminate (FML) used for the fuselage on the Airbus A380. The project evaluated self-reinforced PLA and PET as well as PET/fibre glass composite, in combination with two different Al alloys.
Main activities were to evaluate formability, mechanical properties as well as the environmental impact of the concept.
